(Washington, DC, March 10, 2008)— The National Association of
Multicultural Media Executives will hold its ‘Annual Celebration of
Diversity” Awards Dinner, recognizing a multicultural slate of industry
trailblazers at 7 pm. April 15th at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington,
DC. The event will take place during the week of the Newspaper
Association of America and American Society of Newspaper Editors Annual
conventions.
As a prelude to the dinner, a special reception will be held announcing
NAMME’s new strategic direction that will position itself to become more
platform agnostic, recognizing growth in magazine, ethnic media and mobile
media, and establishing strategic partnerships and programming to better
serve the changing needs of a diverse membership base. The organization
also will celebrate its name change to the National Association of
Multicultural Media Executives. The 18-year-old group represents
multicultural media executives from all racial and ethnic groups and
across all platforms of media. NAMME Chair Neil Foote, president of Foote
Communications LLC and assistant professor of journalism at the University
North Texas, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, paying tribute to
this year’s winners by acknowledging their numerous contributions not only
to media, but to the world at large.
