(Los Angeles – July 9th, 2007) Comedian J. Anthony Brown is well known for his catch
phrase, ‘WatchOutDehNow’. Well, the co-host of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner
Morning Show, has a lot to watch out there now as he has relaunched his website –
http://janthonybrown.com – signaling the kickoff of his new video production company,
opening of a comedy club and release of a new line of suits.
The flashy, colorful and interactive site, representing Brown’s effervescent personality, is
a gateway to everything “J. Anthony Brown”. The South Carolina comic is widely
recognized for his comedy as host of BET ComicView, Def Comedy Jam and It’s
Showtime at the Apollo. He also was featured in the hit movie, ‘Drumline’ and co-hosted
‘dLife’, a health program devoted to healthy living for diabetics.
“I’m sending a message that I’m more than just a comedian,” said Brown, a South
Carolina native, who is heard on the Tom Joyner Morning Show that is aired in 120
markets reaching eight million listeners every week. “What I want everybody to know is
that I’m running a comedy club; have launched my own production company that is
producing a series of DVDs; and have rolled out a new line of suits. All I have to say is
‘WatchOutDehNow’! It’s a brand new day.”
Among his new projects is his ‘WatchOutDehNow Productions”, which is setting out to
capture the comedic genius of stand ups and quality comedy films in short and long form.
One of the inaugural releases is “Tambourine Man,” written, produced and directed by
Brown.
Brown’s new line of stylish, high-fashioned suits are available now at selected retailers
around the country and via his website –
http://www.thejspotstore.com/suit_collection.html. “What can I say,” Brown explained.
“These suits are off the chain.”
To provide a forum for up-and-coming comics, Brown also is scheduled to open the ‘J
Spot Comedy Club’ in Los Angeles. “Listen, every new comic is looking for a gig, and
there aren’t enough places that will give some of these young cats a chance to work in
front of a live audience. I know what this is all about because when I was coming up, I
couldn’t get work because folks told me I needed more ‘experience’. The ‘J Spot’ is the
spot to for comics to work their chops and get the exposure they need to launch their
career.”
Brown also has channeled his creative side by producing a line of art work that has been
auctioned off to help raise money for the Tom Joyner Foundation, which helps keep
students enrolled in Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
