(DALLAS) The African American Museum in Dallas is hosting a series of free lectures sponsored by Oncor, one of the nation’s largest utility companies, as part of its major exhibit, “Rising Up: Hale Woodruff’s Murals at Talladega College”.
The lectures will take at the museum, 3536 Grand Avenue, in Dallas’ Fair Park, during the length of the exhibit, which will be here until Feb. 28, 2013. Dallas is the only city west of the Mississippi to host the treasured murals, and the only African American museum in the country to share the 70-year-old works.
Here’s a list of the upcoming lectures and gallery talks that will feature some of region’s most recognized art scholars and historians to discuss the history and significance of the murals and Hale Woodruff’s works.
